Hello! Thank you for visiting the Plastics Crash Course website. I'm Maddie, a senior in plastics engineering at UMass Lowell who enjoys rock climbing and hanging out with my cats. I am graduating in the Spring and currently working on my senior capstone project and honors thesis. The idea for this website stemmed from my capstone project to collect and characterize macro and micro plastics waste from the environment. The amount of plastic my group collected in just a few weeks was staggering. I knew there was a gap somewhere in education about

sustainability which is where my honors thesis,

the Plastics Crash Course site, comes in.

The idea behind this site is to share plastics

sustainability facts through fun mediums such

as comics and provide surveys to determine

what people learned and if they will implement

more sustainable habits into their every day lives!
